Magical World of Incense

Magical World of Incense

Incense is used for several reasons. Burn it to promote magical workings, mask an unpleasant smell you can’t find in the house, or use it simply because you enjoy the lavish smell it gives off.
Certain incense help daily tasks move smoother. I find myself reaching for vanilla during the day as I  work on new creations or when deep in writing. It gives me a calm & focused mind to stay on task.
Incense will enhance certain feelings. When the sun sets, the smell of Dragon’s Blood or  Black Crystal soaks my skin. These two incense give me a feeling of mystery & witchy vibes. The blanket of stars sets the mood while the enchanting smoke from Dragon’s Blood or Black Crystal seal in the unknown magical surprises night offers.

I hope this gives a little insight into incense’s magical world, as it has a 70’s hippie reputation. There is so much more to it than that, & not just a means to hide that weed stench you’re dying to hide. 😉

Use this list to help guide you to the right incense for the purpose you seek.

Coconut. Use this incense when you need a little mental balance, a dash of courage, or when feel your intuition might need a boost.

You might want to grab the Patchouli incense when you want to attract something or someone to you. It is wonderful when inducing a bit of creativity, grounding, & prosperity. Patchouli is known for sexual energy. Use it when you intend to attract some love, passion, or sensuality. Bring the vixen or fox out in yourself with this sexy scent.

Sandalwood is a very popular incense! But, did you know you can use it to bring awareness, balance & concentration to your environment? Sandalwood calms your environment.  Use when banishing unwanted energies & the area or tool needs purifications. It helps to remove negativity & protects the area giving a sense of well-being.

White Sage is another well-known incense in the witchy world. Burning the herb in a bundle style is the most well-known use. I love the scent the burnt herb gives off. If you ask my mother, she will disagree, finding it unappealing. White Sage incense is definitely different. It gives off a sweeter smell & for the vast population, more pleasant than that of the herb.
Use either form when you need grounding. It is ideal for any magical workings. Bring protection, purification & comfort into your environment. Clear the mind while insight will creep in as the smoke swirls around the room.

Lavender is well-known. Using it as an incense promotes the known stress & anxiety properties, many people seek. This lavender smoke brings clarity, general healing, & a kind sensitivity. Light a stick as you are getting ready for bed to promote restful sleep. All the wonderful things you’ve heard about the essential oil or herb will translate into the use of an incense stick.

Rose. Ah, the romantic rose. All things love surround this beautiful flower, & for a good reason.
Rose is known to attract affection. It holds secrets of love, gives off huge amounts of sexual energy. Burn this romantic incense on date night. Light a stick before you get dressed for the night out, then light another while entertaining & having drinks after dinner.

Vanilla will balance the emotions. It will bring in a calm, focused mind & help promote concentration. Burning this incense can spark some inspiration in just the way you need it. Let the smoke wrap around you & feel its powerful passion.

Last but not least is Jasmine.
Jasmine flower is closely associated with the moon. Burn this floral aroma when playing with Luna. <3
Let imagination swirl around while harmony dances with romance. A very mystic smell bringing in all things light.

The list goes on, my friend.  Now, grab your favorite box of incense, play with the feelings it gives you. Use your intuition & focus on the power of the smoke floating around.
